I've noticed the problem of spam messages in this comm, and the fact that the original comm owner apparently has abandoned this place. I've tried to contact her more than once and it's been over a year now and she hasn't replied. I filed a report with LiveJournal and they transferred maintainer powers to me so I could remove spam messages from the comm.
I realise this comm hasn't been very active (at all, heh), but there's still a huge membership, and it's my hope that people will still occasionally wish to use this comm. As such I want to be an active and responsible maintainer for you all.
If the owner busy_lizzy ever decides to return, of course, I'll be all too happy to welcome her back.
Feel free to offer any suggestions or ideas for the comm if you'd like, and feel free to start any discussions/post icons/reminisce/etc! The same rules as set down by the owner still apply. Just because Spicks and Specks has finally come to an end doesn't mean its communities have to. :)
Right, this may be a long shot, since this comm's pretty dead. That said, Adam's in Los Angles right now and thinking of doing a gig. ANYONE ON TWITTER, please encourage him (@adamhillscomedy) to gig in CA! There's gotta be enough people in the area who'd wanna see 'em, it sure would make his US fans eternally happy!! :oD Thank you! :) (ETA link)
I don't know if this community is dead or not - but am I the only one who noticed Adam's wedding ring? Did he get married and manage to keep entirely out of the media? Or did I just completely miss it?
So, is there anyone around that wants to talk about the show?
Surely after nearly an entire series somebody has had a thought about guests or themes or games or shirts Adam wears that they want to share? Is there some secret s&s discussion haven that nobody's thought to tell me about or has everyone just gone off it or what? We didn't even have a 200 party.
Personally I've really been loving episodes this year, you?
G'day all and despite the traditonal Aussie greating (I do love the fact that Adam Hills says that at the beginning of every episode) I am in fact English.
I popped my Adam Hills cherry, as it were, at the Edinburgh Fringe festival this year at which I saw his Inflatable gig. It was one of the best stand ups I have seen and really set the tone for the whole holiday. I was also fortunate to meet him afterwards and not only get his Jock Hancock but also have a picture taken with him and a very, very lovely man he is indeed. So needless to say I have been on a bit of Adam Hills spree over the last month and have become very much addicted to Spicks and Specks. So below you will find a youtube playlist of Adam Hills standup that I have found, as well as apperances on Mock the Week, and also episodes of Spicks and Specks that I have come across. I thought that it might be useful for new people who joined, and also those of you who may have missed some.
Now for the request. I was wondering if anyone had all the episodes of Spicks and Specks in which Ali McGregor has appeared? I only saw her at the Fringe festival on Adam and Jason Byrne's variety night, in which it was my last night there, and am gutted I never got to see her show. Please if anyone could upload them I would really, really appreciate it.
I am by no stretch of the imagination an Aussie - very British, in fact - but I found my way here through Mock the Week and Adam Hills. I love this show, it's great!
I'm posting here as an intro but also to ask a little favour... I'm a huuuge fan of Tim Minchin and I've seen the video of the Adam Hillsong, but I can't find the full episode. I got one version, but the links have timed out so I can't download it. Can anyone help? I'd be eternally grateful!
Live on Admish and other such craziness on this lovable show!
So I got a bit of a shock when they were introducing the guests for Spicks and Specks two weeks ago. Taryn Fiebig was my high school choir teacher! I got completely weirded out when Adam was reading out her introduction because I recognised it! But it was great to see her again (albeit on tv) and to know that she's doing so well!
